Youth baseball, softball signups, camps

It's December. Holiday shoppers fill the malls, and the weather outside is blustery. So it's beginning to look a lot like... baseball?

That's right, though more accurately it's baseball and softball. Leagues are holding signups for the upcoming 1999 season, and there are clinics and camps scheduled through the holidays for interested young players.

Willow Glen Little League

The Willow Glen Little League is holding signups for the 1999 season. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-18. Players must provide an original birth certificate and a utility bill for proof of residency when they register. The league is also looking for volunteer umpires, managers and coaches. For more information, call 450-8502.

Lincoln Glen Little League

The Lincoln Glen Little League will hold signups for the 1999 season on Jan. 9 and 23, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and Jan. 14 and 21, 6-9 p.m., at River Glen Park. The league is open to players ages 5-18 (as of July 31, 1999). Proof of residency is required for all players, and new players must provide a birth certificate. For more information, call Tom Feasby at 264-1125.

PAL Pony Signups

The San Jose PAL will hold Pony Baseball signups for players ages 7-12. Signups are held Tuesday through Friday at PAL Stadium. A birth certificate is required. For more information, call Officer Kevin White at 272-9725, ext. 102.
