Local All-leaguers

Three Willow Glen teen-agers were among the players honored with all-league recognition in junior varsity football in the West Catholic Athletic League this fall.

Running back Ryan Schon, outside linebacker John Cane and defensive back Nate Guido were among the seven Mitty players to earn all-league recognition. All three are 1997 graduates of St. Christopher's.

The Monarchs were 9-1 in 1998 and were undefeated in league play, winning their first outright championship since 1980.

Basketball Camp

A youth basketball mini-camp for boys and girls ages 7-12 will be held Dec. 28-30, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at the Central Branch of the YMCA. The registration deadline is Dec. 23. For more information, call 298-1717.

Lincoln Glen Little League

The Lincoln Glen Little League will hold signups for the 1999 season on Jan. 9 and 23, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and Jan. 14 and 21, 6-9 p.m., at River Glen Park.

The league is open to players ages 5-18 (as of July 31, 1999). Proof of residency is required for all players, and new players must provide a birth certificate.

Stanford Holiday Baseball Camps

A pair of Stanford holiday baseball camps will be offered in December. Hitting, pitching and defensive instruction will be offered over Christmas vacation Dec. 20-22 and Dec. 27-29.

The camps are open to players ages 13-18, and the cost is $100 per session.

Holiday Camps

Indoor hitting, pitching and catching camps for baseball players ages 8-22 will be held Dec. 21-31 in San Jose. Players will be grouped in three different levels and will participate two hours per day in the two-day camps. The cost is $59 per player. Inside Power Giants Christmas Camp

San Francisco Giants shortstop Rich Aurilia and former Giants and Oakland A's pitcher Vida Blue are slated as the special guests at the Inside Power Giants Christmas Camp Dec. 19-20. For more information, call 996-7697.
