The Willow Glen ResidentGlen slashes prices to benefit Toys for Tots football driveThe Monday night before Christmas will not be all about football for fans at The Glen--it will also be about children, as the pub hosts a Toys For Tots drive from 4 p.m. until closing. The Glen will be giving a token to everyone who brings in a new toy, which entitles them to purchase any microbrew beer for 25 cents. "We would give each person a beer, but it's illegal to do that. We have to sell it," says John Karamanos, the bar's co-owner. Karamanos says he and his wife have been involved in Toys For Tots on a personal level for the last five years, and they decided it would be a good idea to get The Glen involved to give back to the community. The Glen hopes to make the Toys For Tots drive an annual event. "There are a lot of kids out there who need toys," Karamanos says. --Michelle Ku
