    Under the Tree

Sometimes it seems like the holidays turn the whole world upside down. At Pizza My Heart on Lincoln Avenue, it's just an optical illusion. The pie makers there managed to get a tree, presents and a working model train up on the ceiling for the first holiday season at the new restaurant.

    The Sign of Music

Julie Andrews fans young and old lined the street outside Hicklebee's Bookstore on Lincoln Avenue in Willow Glen Saturday, to meet the star of 'Mary Poppins' and 'Victor/Victoria,' and other movies. Andrews was visiting the popular children's bookstore on Dec. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to sign copies of her new childrens' book, 'Dumpy the Dump Truck,' a short story about an old dump truck on a farm on the East Coast that gets fixed up by a little boy and his grandfather just in time to help the farmer, the boy's father, build a new barn. The story, which is the first in the series written by Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton, includes colorful illustrations by Tony Walton. Hamilton's young son Sam is the inspiration for the 'Dumpy' series, which also includes 'Dumpy at School.' Andrews has also written other children's books, including 'Little Bo: The Story of Bonnie Boadicea.'
