Speak Out

'Leave my guns alone'

In the Nov.18 issue you published my letter titled "If Voting Changed Anything It Would Be Outlawed." In the next week's issue, Tom Sutton responded ["Irrational Solutions to Moral Decay."]

First of all, Mr. Sutton is missing the point when he mentioned the O.J. case. I had nothing to do with O.J., Marcia Clark, nor Mr. Fuhrman--even though I strongly believe the detective was innocent and did not tamper with the evidence. It was a witch-hunt, but finally it's over.

My suggestion was not to "give us more guns." However, when law-abiding citizens are disarmed and the criminals are well-armed--that will not stop the crime-wave; instead, it will escalate. My suggestion was leave my guns and Second Amendment alone--that's all.

If there are people who hate guns, that's fine, do not buy, own or use guns of any kind. Those who love guns--such as myself--have the right to buy, own and use guns without any restriction.

I also did not mention Bill Clinton's name and his abuse of power. However, if Mr. Sutton has brought this issue up, let me enlight him about Clinton. You are wrong, it is not "about sex"! What Clinton has done with Lewinsky it is his own business. What he tried to do and what he did (lying before the grand jury; use his power to intimidate witnesses) are not his business.

We have a "paper" called the Constitution, Mr. Sutton; I'm not sure--have you ever heard about it? That Constitution clearly declares those impeachable crimes he did commit. And he did.

The impeachment against him is not because he was having sex with a White House internee, but because he abused his power. And where are the other things: FBI-gate, Whitewater-gate, dope-gate, Foster-gate, and the 54 people "disappeared" from Clinton's circle.

One representative mentioned in the Spotlight a few years ago: "It is a very dangerous thing Clinton's friend to be."

So as you can see, Mr. Sutton, I do not blame Clinton at all. I blamed the system which allowed him into office, allowed him into the highest, most respectable position, which is monitored by not just our children, but every nation all around the world.

By the way, immigration. This was your biggest misconception at all. I blamed the Democrats and their liberal allies for bringing more and more immigrants here. I never ever mentioned those who came here as hard workers, or engineers or--like your grandparents--farmers who settled and made a nice, dependable living for their families. They were not coming to America just for distributing drugs and committing crimes and then leaving to hide somewhere in the housing projects from prosecution. I see your eyebrows lifted: that's racist! No, it's not, it's the fact. I have absolutely nothing bad to do with those who are working hard and want a decent living. But, Mr. Sutton, they are the minority.

Reading your letter I feel nothing positive from it; neither an offer for solution, nor to solve any kind of moral decay. Your point is just standing in the same point and shaking your head on any other opinion. One way or other, at least I tried to to do something: I walk on my way and believe it is right.
