Run for the Law

The fourth annual Run for the Law 5K Walk/Run, 10K Run and Corporate Challenge will be held June 30, 8 a.m., at the West Valley Courthouse, 14205 Capri Drive. The event will benefit Legal Advocates for Children and Youth.

The fast, flat course will travel through the streets of Los Gatos and the trails of Lake Vasona Park. The preregistration fee is $20, $18 for individuals in a group of five or more. Race-day registration is $25. Medals will be presented to the top three finishers in each age group.

Say, hey!

The "Say Hey Kid," Willie Mays, will be the special guest at the San Francisco–San Jose Giants Boosters 10th annual fundraiser dinner on June 23 at Lou's Village in San Jose.

Mays will be the guest of honor, and other invited guests include Lon Simmons, Orlando Cepeda, Bobby Bonds, Jimmy Davenport, Peter Magowan, Russ Ortiz, Chad Zerbe and Mark Letendre.

Brewers golf


The ninth annual Los Gatos Brewing Company Golf Tournament will be held June 23–24. The event is sponsored by the Pavicich family in the memory of their grandparents, Andrew and Rose Pavicich and Stephen and Mary Dorcich, and proceeds benefit Live Oak Adult Day Services and Live Oak Nutrition Center.

The $300 per person entry fee includes gold and a kickoff dinner and auction at A.P. Stumps restaurant in downtown San Jose.

Golf tourney

The third annual Alfred Hitchcock Golf Tournament, benefiting cystic fibrosis research, will be held July 15, 1:30 p.m., at the Seascape Golf Club in Aptos.

The four-person scramble tourney will be scored on the Calloway System, and as a special feature a professional golfer will be available on the 10th hole to hit each group's tee shot. There will be a 2002 Mercedes on the line as a hole-in-one prize.

Following the tournament there will be an awards dinner, along with silent and live auctions. Each table at the dinner will feature a different theme from a classic Hitchcock movie.
