Youth football
The Willow Glen Youth Football organization,
a member of the San Jose Police Activities League, is holding
sign-ups for players ages 8-14 for the 2002 fall season. For more information,

Special Olympics
The fall Special Olympics season is just around the corner, and coaches are
needed to prepare athletes for their events. A volunteer orientation
will be held Aug. 13, 7 p.m., at 43 E. Gish Road, just off N. First Street in

All-star game
The Independent Senior Semi Pro Baseball all-star game will be played
Aug. 13, 7 p.m., at San Jose Municipal
Stadium. Players from Bay Area semipro teams
will make up the all-star squads. Tickets are

Senior games
The California Senior Games will run through Aug. 11, with events
scheduled all over the greater San Jose area. Athletes will compete in
archery, badminton, basketball, billiards,
bowling, cycling, 5K and 10K runs, golf,
horseshoes, lawn bowling, power lifting,
racquetball, rugby, soccer, softball,
swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball
and track and field.
All-Sports Camp
Santa Clara University will host its Summer
All-Sports Camp for children with a "sincere interest in sports
and outdoor recreation."
The camp will begin Aug. 11 for resident
campers and Aug. 12 for day campers.
Sports offered will include baseball,
basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis and
