Otero wins

Orlando Otero won the Willow Glen Little League Hit-A-Thon in the T-ball division. Otero, 5, raised $848, the most money in his league.

"He went through the neighborhood in order to raise money for the Little League," said Mary Vetere, Otero's aunt. "People could sponsor him by paying a flat rate or by a certain amount depending on how far he hit the ball."

Otero, who played for the Cardinals, was awarded a Raleigh Mountain Scout bike for his efforts, at an awards ceremony that took place in front of all the t-ball teams.
