Sept. 12 event to promote health

The Agnews Developmental Center and the American Heart Association are inviting the community to participate in a walk on Sept. 12 between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. at the Agnews Developmental Center, 3500 Zanker Rd.

Panel on demographic trends set for Sept. 20

The Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group presents Silicon Valley Projections 2002, a 10-year outlook of and interactive community conversation about the demographic trends shaping the Silicon Valley.

Panel discussions will cover quality of life issues by examining factors such as transportation, housing, environment, education and energy reliability.

The event will be Sept. 20, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., at San José State University's music hall. The registration deadline is Sept. 17.

Agencies sponsoring computer recycling

San Jose residents and businesses with fewer than 25 employees are invited to take their old computers, monitors, printers and fax machines to a recycling event on Sept. 14 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The event will be held at the office of United DataTech Distributors, 950 S. Third St. The project's sponsors are the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, United DataTech Distributors, Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, Krispy Kreme Donuts and S2 Designs.
