Willow Glen resident John Davi produced a Christmas album called ...merry little christmas in 2000 that features 15 professional Bay Area musicians. The album, which has a big band and jazz sound, includes the classic songs "Sleigh Ride," "Winter Wonderland," "White Christmas," "Feliz Navidad," "O Holy Night" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

"My goal was to capture the sound of the late 1950s and 1960s, with a focus on vocals and acoustics," says Davi, the CD's vocalist, who also runs a web-based business out of his home. "My wife and I wanted to make a Christmas album because it would have a lasting appeal rather than original music that someone might only listen to once."

The album includes a string quartet, horn section, four-part harmony on "Let It Snow" and original arrangements, Davi says. It was recorded at Bill Hare Productions in Milpitas and Soundtek Studios in Campbell.
