2002 was a year of changes for Willow Glen—mostly for the better. The Willow Glen Business and Professional Association held memorable Dancin' on the Avenue and Founders' Day events, and two landmark merchants on the avenue held anniversaries. Though a handful of businesses closed their doors for good, several new stores came to the avenue. Lincoln Glen Park opened, providing Willow Glen with a unique recreational setting that accommodates children with disabilities, and Hummingbird Park at Bird and Fisk avenues is under construction.
