Among the celebrations going on around the valley on New Year's Eve was a party at the San Jose Country Club for members and guests. The evening featured dinner and dancing, and champagne salutes at the witching hour.

Ballet is New Orleans-bound

Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley staged a special party Dec. 7 at Blake's restaurant to announce that the theme for its March 8 gala will be "Evening in the French Quarter." Guests included members of the organization's council, its board of trustees, major donors and many of the company's 38 dancers.
