Watercolor exhibit at WG Coffee Roasting Co.
The Willow Glen Coffee Roasting Company, 1383 Lincoln Ave., will feature recent works by Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society members March 2 through 30. A reception will be held on March 9 from 1 to 3 p.m., with all of the exhibiting artists present.
The society has been capturing the essence of the Silicon Valley for many years by painting historical buildings and important present-day landmarks, says society member Sue Ashley.
The society is a large group that has provided encouragement for both new artists and experienced painters for more than 36 years.

WG children in CMT's 'The Music Man'
Children's Musical Theater San Jose is presenting The Music Man from Feb. 27 through March 2 at the Montgomery Theater, 150 W. San Carlos St. in San Jose. The musical comedy, set in 1912, is about a traveling salesman, Harold Hill, who charms the residents of River City, Iowa.
There are two casts for the show, which features 11 children from Willow Glen—including Connor Reilly and Austin Deeter, who both play the agitated anvil salesman Charlie Cowell.
The Music Man is Deeter's fourth show with Children's Musical Theater. He played Oscar De Velt in Bugsy Malone last summer.
Austin says, "I can't wait to get to rehearsal every day; it's so much fun."
According to Austin's mother, Tricia, the Deeter family discovered Children's Musical Theater via the web before they moved to the Bay Area from Texas two years ago.
Winner of eight Tony awards, The Music Man is filled with eccentric characters and offers many recognizable musical numbers, including "76 Trombones," "Gary, Indiana" and "Till There Was You."
The cast also includes Willow Glen residents Kyle Aberg, Emma and Clara Blickenstaff, Alec Carolan, Katie Kirk, Taylor Kirk, Kara Risser, Mackenzie McLemore and Max Sala. The cast ranges in age from 8 to 13.
