Concert at WG Coffee Roasting Co. in March

The Willow Glen Coffee Roasting Company, 1383 Lincoln Ave., will hold a concert featuring singer/songwriter Jayme Kelly Curtis on March 15 from 8 to 10 p.m.

There is no cover charge for the event, which will feature the singer's original music.

The concert features Curtis on guitar and vocals, with additional accompaniment by violinist Autumn Hancock. Hancock has played with Michael Hedges, has opened for Canned Heat, Fleetwood Mac and David Grisman, and has toured with the popular Celtic music group Banish Misfortune.

"My songs are eclectic, and Autumn brings a wealth of influences to the party, from Dan Hicks to Stephan Grappelli," says Curtis.

PTA holds auction to raise funds for school

In an effort to raise money for the art, music, library and computer programs at Willow Glen Elementary School, the Parent-Teacher Association will hold its annual fundraising event at Vin Santo Ristorante, 1346 Lincoln Ave., on March 30 between 4 and 7 p.m.

The event, called "Getaway to Northern Italy," will feature wine tasting, appetizers, a silent auction, door prizes and thank you gifts for attendees.

Scheduled to attend are San Jose District 6 City Council member Ken Yeager, San Jose Unified School District Area 3 Trustee Carol Myers, and Willow Glen Elementary School Principal Dayle D'Anna.

Donations for the silent auction are appreciated. Tickets are $50 if purchased before March 17 and $60 thereafter.

Occupational center opens doors for tour

The Central County Occupational Center will open its doors to the community at its 34th annual open house on March 14. The public is invited to tour and observe student demonstrations at the facility between the hours of 8 and 10 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m., and 6 and 8 p.m.

A spaghetti fundraiser to benefit the student cafeteria will be held in the cafeteria from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A meal of spaghetti, salad and garlic bread will be available. The cost is $5 per person, $3 for children 12 and under.

The occupational center is a unit of MetroED that offers more than 30 different technical training courses in automotive technology, construction technology, electronic technology, the culinary arts, industrial technology, cosmetology, business information systems, health, law enforcement, mechanical maintenance and communication arts.

New real estate firm opens in Willow Glen

Intero Real Estate Services, a locally operated and independently owned full-service real estate company, is opening an office in Willow Glen at 1567 Meridian Ave.

This is the fourth Intero office to open in the Silicon Valley region in the past five months. It has the capacity for up to 70 agents. While Intero has leased the entire 12,500-square-foot building, it will only use 8,500 square feet for Intero San Jose and sublease the remaining space.

Terry Meyer, who has almost 20 years of experience selling residential real estate and managing operations in branch offices, will manage Intero San Jose.

Intero Real Estate Services is now open in Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Hollister and San Jose. Interim offices are currently operating out of Cupertino, Los Gatos and Los Altos, with permanent locations set to open in the coming months.
