On March 24 Kinko's introduced the Military Family Support Program as a way to help service members stationed overseas keep in touch with their families back home. This is a free service available nationwide at any Kinko's location.

Through the program, Kinko's stores are donating 30 minutes of high-speed Internet access to military families who have military ID or other identification documents.

"Caring for our communities is one of the core values of Kinko's," said Susan B. Parks, executive vice president of operations. "When we heard how many of our neighbors are away from their families, we naturally wanted to find a way to help. Kinko's is delighted to provide them with free rental computer time and Internet access."

"So far no one has used the service here," said Martin Tuttle, branch manager for the Kinko's in Campbell. "But I don't think many people are aware of this program. We would welcome any announcements"

Tuttle also wants customers to know that the store is open 24 hours a day, which is not true for all the Kinko's. And with an 11-hour time difference between California and Iraq and Kuwait, being open 24 hours might be convenient for those with family members in the military.

Tuttle says families are welcome to come into the store at any time of day and speak with a branch team member at the front counter about using the free service.

"A team member will set you up at one of the computer terminals for Internet access or for email," he said.

The closest Kinko's for Willow Glen residents are the ones located in Campbell and on E. San Carlos Street in San Jose. Both are open 24 hours a day.
