eWomenNetwork is spurred on by local

The new San Jose chapter of eWomenNetwork will hold a luncheon event April 17 at Maggiano's Little Italy, 3055 Olin Avenue, Suite 1000, in Santana Row.

Willow Glen resident Kristy Rogers is managing director for eWomenNetwork—a company that provides numerous membership benefits, including personal one-on-one coaching from a team of certified coaching experts, and website business profiles to help connect members and promote their business within the network.

"Networking in San Jose has moved to a whole new level with women who are serious about networking, focused on success, and believe in giving and sharing with others," Rogers says.

The group has been meeting in 75 cities for the past two years. In just under three years eWomenNetwork has established "Accelerated Networking" chapters in 75 major North American cities, including Dallas, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Fort Lauderdale, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Toronto, Atlanta, Houston and Austin.

More than 3 million female business owners and professionals are reached monthly through eWomenNetwork on its own radio show.

The luncheon price is $35 for eWomenNetwork members and $48 for guests. A limited number of display tables are available, and registration is required. To register, visit www.ewomennetwork.com or call 408.288.8484.

Easter egg promotion a success for merchants

The Willow Glen Business and Professional Association's website promotion appears to be succeeding, according to the association's second vice president, Kay Wolf.

Between April 6 and 20, printable coupons for Lincoln Avenue merchants can be found by clicking on "lightly hidden" Easter eggs on the association's website at www.DowntownWillowGlen.org.

During the promotion's first three days, the website was visited 2,539 times, averaging 668 visits per day. This is a 326 percent increase from a three-day period the prior week, when the website was visited 596 times, averaging 149 visits per day.

Cara Finn, the association's president and owner of The Grapevine wine shop, said that she has had a few customers present their printed coupons for a free half-pound of cheese.

Cathy Adkins, the association's first vice president and owner of Willow Glen Books, said she also has had success with the website promotion. Adkins is offering 10 percent off merchandise with the coupons.

Jeff Mullen, owner of the Willow Glen Frozen Yogurt Company, said, "We got two coupons the first day. The promotion is working out great. I'm really glad I did it." Mullen is offering a free child's size cup with the purchase of another cup of any size.
