The Santa Clara County Violence Prevention Network is offering grants of between $500 and $2,000 to nonprofit community groups, schools and agencies to fund education and training projects and for building public awareness about preventing violence. Applications are being accepted until April 30.

The Violence Prevention Network consists of community members and service providers and agencies working together to educate the public about "social values that promote healthy communities" and the causes of violence in society and explore preventive measures.
