The kids at Children's Musical Theatre are at it again. The Mainstage players bring two American legends, Will Rogers and The Ziegfeld Follies, to life in their production of The Will Rogers Follies.
The Tony awardwinning Broadway musical—full of the wit and wisdom for which Rogers was known—is a high-energy celebration of his career. The show recounts the many talents of Rogers, complete with rope tricks and lavish dance numbers by the Follies Girls and Western Wranglers.
Famous for saying, "I never met a man I didn't like," Rogers covered every show biz medium, including vaudeville, Broadway, radio and movies. The Will Rogers Follies pays tribute to his success with songs like "Will-a-Mania" and "Give a Man Enough Rope."
Kevin R. Hauge directs and choreographs the company's teenage performers against a set designed by scenic artist George Petit.
The Will Rogers Follies runs May 818 at the Montgomery Theater in downtown San Jose. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children. Call 408.288.5437 or visit www.cmtsj.org for more information.
