Coffeehouse adds a second artist to event
A second artist was added to the David Peterson photography show at the Willow Glen Coffee Roasting Company Gallery on July 13.
Wayne Champion, a watercolorist, came out of fighting in the Navy in World War II to settle in Arcata, Calif. with his wife, Kay.
In the late 1940s, he moved to San Jose, and after doing graduate work at Stanford and in southern Germany began teaching industrial design at San José State University.
But Champion missed the foggy landscapes of Arcata, and when he retired in 1991 he returned to his watercolor painting. He also took advantage of his teaching experience and began assisting with watercolor workshops.
A reception will be held for Champion on July 20 from 1 to 3 p.m.
