Workshop to focus on the tough times
Small businesses in Willow Glen area are invited to a Sept. 18 workshop, "Doing Good Business in Tough Times."
The event, a joint effort of the San Jose Redevelopment Agency and the city's office of economic development, starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.
"What we're trying to do is to bring resources to the small businesses in the district," said Jordan Dancer, development specialist for the redevelopment agency. "We want to know, 'What is it that you're looking for and need and how can we get you that information?' "
The workshop includes a time for networking and a 11/2-hour workshop, as well as a discussion of resources such as classes for business owners, job training, technical assistance and an entrepreneurial center in San Jose. According to Dancer, the event is geared toward Councilman Ken Yeager's District 6—which contains key development areas of The Alameda, W. San Carlos Street and downtown Willow Glen.
The workshop takes place at Valley Credit Union, 650 Lincoln Ave. To RSVP, call Dancer by Sept. 16 at 408.794.1175.
