Girls lacrosse

There are a few openings remaining for girls interesting in playing in the Girls Lacrosse of San Jose program in the spring season. The club is open to girls in the fifth through eighth grades.

The season runs from February through May with weekend games against other Bay Area teams and practices twice weekly. The fee of $190 per player includes a uniform and membership in U.S. Lacrosse.

The Los Gatos All-Comer Track and Field winter series will run Saturdays from Jan. 10 through Feb. 28 at the high school's all-weather track. The cost is $4 for unlimited events or $2 for spectators. Volleyball sign-ups

The United States Youth Volleyball League is now holding registration for the spring recreational season. The coed league is open to boys and girls ages 8­14 and the season will run for eight weeks from mid-April to June. Games and practices are held at Kirk Park.

The USYVL is an instructional league that features a fun, safe, supervised, low-pressure environment. All children play and learn the game.
