| A barbecue during the rainy Christmas season was risky, but tradition is not a thing to be taken lightly by members of the Professional Wine Society of Santa Clara County. So when Jon Anderson scheduled his annual Christmas barbecue for members and friends at his home in the Santa Cruz Mountains, he kept his fingers crossed. It paid off. In between storms, the sky turned blue for the day and food and wine were enjoyed by all. |

| Longtime friends gathered at the home of Jim and Susanne Salata, who own the Garden City Construction Co., to ring in the new year. Hats, horns and plentiful platters of food were part of the evening's festivities. And there was much music provided by the guests themselves, some of whom play regularly in their grownup garage band. |
