The San Jose Unified School District School Consolidation Committee scheduled two closed-session meetings to develop tentative recommendations for the superintendent and board of education on which district schools to consolidate. The first meeting occurred on Jan. 5, the second on Jan. 12. By Jan. 15, two public forums on school consolidation will be scheduled for late January or early February. School's got rhythm to showcase in style

Schallenberger School, 1280 Koch Lane, will showcase its winter music program, I Got Rhythm, on Jan. 27 and 28.

Under the direction of Leisa Johnson, third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students will present songs, poems and dances.

The students will perform renditions of "On the Road Again," "Help" and "Juba Dis and Juba Dat."
