Hot Stove Banquet
Eric Byrnes of the Oakland A's and Jason Simontacchi of the St. Louis Cardinals will be among the honorees at the 20th annual Hot Stove Banquet coming up Feb. 3 at the San Jose GI Forum, 765 Story Road in San Jose.
The event annually honors area professional, college and high school baseball players and raises funds for youth baseball programs. A 6 p.m. no-host cocktail hour is followed by a 7 p.m. dinner and 8 p.m. awards presentation. John Shrader of KNBR radio is the host.
Tickets are priced at $35 per person, but youth baseball, high school and college groups can reserve a table for 10 for $300. For more information, call Al Talboy at 408.446.3443.
WGLL sign-ups

Lincoln Glen LL
The Lincoln Glen Little League is holding registration for the 2004 season. Players ages 518 are eligible. All new players must provide an original birth certificate and utility bill for proof of residency.

Girls lacrosse
There are a few openings remaining for girls interesting in playing in the Girls Lacrosse of San Jose program in the spring season. The club is open to girls in the fifth through eighth grades.
The season runs from February through May with weekend games against other Bay Area teams and practices twice weekly. The fee of $190 per player includes a uniform and membership in U.S. Lacrosse.

All-comers
The Los Gatos All-Comer Track and Field winter series will run Saturdays through Feb. 28 at the high school's all-weather track. The cost is $4 for unlimited events or $2 for spectators. Volleyball sign-ups
The United States Youth Volleyball League is now holding registration for the spring recreational season. The coed league is open to boys and girls ages 814 and the season will run for eight weeks from mid-April to June. Games and practices are held at Kirk Park.
The USYVL is an instructional league that features a fun, safe, supervised, low-pressure environment. All children play and learn the game.
