WGLL tryouts

The Willow Glen Little League will hold tryouts for the 2004 season for players age 8­12 On Jan. 24, 10 a.m.­2 p.m., at Bramhall Park on Willow Street. Players needed

The Strikker softball teams are looking for players for various positions to play in the upcoming 2004 season. Players needed include: 18 and under team—middle infielder (shortstop) and pitcher, call Frank King at 408.227.8191 or Richard Fangonilo at 408.274.9301; 14 and under team—catcher, call Ernie Garcia at 408.281.7855; 12 and under—pitcher and position player, call Garcia or Craig Nunes at 650.799.7710.

LHGS Hall of Fame

The Los Gatos High School Athletic Hall of Fame will hold ceremonies for its first group of inductees with a special dinner slated for May 1 at the LaRinconada Country Club in Los Gatos.

The Hall of Fame committee is still attempting to reach the family of Bob Brannen to invite a representative to the event. Anyone with information on the Brannen family is urged to call Dick Sparrer at the Willow Glen Resident, 408.354.3110, ext. 31, or email dsparrer@svcn.com.

Girls lacrosse

There are a few openings remaining for girls interesting in playing in the Girls Lacrosse of San Jose program in the spring season. The club is open to girls in the fifth through eighth grades.

The season runs from February through May with weekend games against other Bay Area teams and practices twice weekly. The fee of $190 per player includes a uniform and membership in U.S. Lacrosse.

Lincoln Glen LL

The Lincoln Glen Little League is holding registration for the 2004 season. Players ages 5­18 are eligible. All new players must provide an original birth certificate and utility bill for proof of residency.
