InnVision raises funds with interfaith concert

Voices raised in melodious song will also be raising funds for InnVision's Community Inns Program. An interfaith choir concert will be held on Feb. 8 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Campbell, 1675 Winchester Blvd.

Seven churches, including Willow Glen's Stone Church, will be participating in the 150-voice choir extravaganza.

The Community Inns Program celebrated its 11th anniversary and provides temporary housing for up to 15 men.

The concert providers are asking for a $10 donation at the door.

Willow Glen Foundation phone-a-thon returns

Volunteers for the Willow Glen Middle and High School Foundation will be making some calls. The foundation's annual phone-a-thon will be held on Feb. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Peak Travel Group offices on Lincoln Avenue.

Last year the foundation raised more than $16,000 by phoning prospective donors and encouraging them to support the nonprofit organization that provides enrichment programs at middle and high schools.

This year the foundation hopes to raise $10,000 at the phone-a-thon said Publicity Chairwoman Beth Martinez. Parents, students and community members are welcome to volunteer.

The money will go toward the career fair and career/guidance counselor at the high school and after-school sports and the AVID college mentoring program at the middle school.
