The best wrestlers of the Central Coast Section will get together at Independence High School in East San Jose on Feb. 2021 for the CCS championships, and the Blossom Valley Athletic League will be well represented.
Westmont sends a large contingent to the two-day tournament with top-rated Dean Antolin leading the pack. Antolin, a BVAL champion at 189 pounds, is the No. 2 seed in his weight class, a tough division that also features Ky Hollenbeck of Capuchino, Ivan Batinich of Los Gatos and Brent Walter of Saratoga.
Joining Antolin at CCS will be Warriors Robert Lopez (103), Preston Falbo (135), Hiep Dinh (145), Alex Kolykhalov (152), Tyler Porras (215) and Ramsey Habib (275).
Prospect and Willow Glen will each send three wrestlers to CCS. Panthers competing will be William Hoppner (135), Jacob Gilford (140) and Garret Karren (189), and the Rams will be represented by Anthony Mendez (103), Robert Oropeza (189) and No. 4 seed Sam Olivas (130), another BVAL champion.
Del Mar and Branham will send two wrestlers apiece to CCS. Representing the Dons will be William Cotter (140) and Todd Woodward (160), and wrestling for the Bruins will be Eric Cutshaw (145) and Jace Guibor (160).
