Rod, car show
The third annual Street Rod and Classic Car show will be held May 22, 9 a.m.3 p.m., at San Jose City College on Moorpark Avenue in San Jose. The event is free to the public. Flash tryouts
The West Valley Flash, a girls under 11 (born after July 31, 1992) Class 1 soccer team, is looking for players, including a goalkeeper, for the spring season. The Flash posted a 10-0 record a year ago and made it to the round of 16 at the Class 1 State Cup competition. For more information, call Vicki at 408.810.0400.
5-on-5 soccer

The Strikker softball teams are looking for players for various positions to play in the upcoming 2004 season. The Los Gatos All-Comer Track and Field winter series will run Saturdays through Feb. 28 at the high school's all-weather track. The cost is $4 for unlimited events or $2 for spectators. Volleyball sign-ups
The United States Youth Volleyball League is now holding registration for the spring recreational season. The coed league is open to boys and girls ages 814 and the season will run for eight weeks from mid-April to June. Games and practices are held at Kirk Park.
The USYVL is an instructional league that features a fun, safe, supervised, low-pressure environment. All children play and learn the game.
