Speaking up for those
who work at Beavers
As a Beavers Bar and Grill employee, I take offense at the recent opinions regarding our name by the few people who seem incapable or unwilling to grasp the concept of time.
Many of us are single mothers who support our children by making an honest living at Beavers. Instead of applauding the restaurant for creating desperately needed jobs in our community, a handful of isolationists seem to be trashing Beavers due to the name.
The name is what you make of it. Our child patrons love the beads, coloring the pictures, kids' menu, balloons, IQ testers, games, Beaver facts, and the Beaver Dam dessert. On Fridays and Saturdays we average more women than men.
Why don't we hear complaints about the other fine establishments in the area with questionable names? Obviously, Beavers is an easy target for a handful of people who have too much time on their hands.
When we first opened, we had some hiccups. Since then we have hired a new chef and a permanent GM, upgraded the menu and added lots of fun stuff for the kids and the adults. We pride ourselves on making sure everyone has a fun and positive experience, as it is our livelihood and our future.
Willow Glen, please don't be influenced or alarmed by the very few who act as if they represent the entire community. Come give us a fair chance, allowing yourself to have an enjoyable evening and leave with a smile.
