Art benefit helps raise
funds for local schools
Silicon Valley Open Studios has proven that art is alive and well in San Jose.
At its Inaugural Gala Benefit Auction on April 22, the program raised more than $26,000 in proceeds to benefit artists and local schools. More than 400 people attended the gala at the San Jose Museum of Art, participating in a live and silent auction.
"We are honored that so many people attended our Gala Benefit Auction," said Silicon Valley Open Studios executive director Kerri Lawnsby. "We are excited about the positive momentum in the arts community right now."
The official Silicon Valley Open Studios program for artists is held during the first three weekends in May.
