When critters cry out,
Wildlife Center helps

It's that time of year when Willow Glen backyards are bustling with activity, as wild animals and birds are born. It's also the time of year when many of these babies are found injured or abandoned.

The Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley is eager to help. Willow Glen residents can bring sick, injured or orphaned wildlife to the center, which is located in San Jose. The organization is the only place in the Willow Glen area that does wildlife rehabilitation and release.

This year's wildlife celebration, "Welcome to the Wildside," will be on June 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day includes children's activities, booths, advice tables and live educational animal presentations. There is no cost, but the center is asking visitors to bring a roll of paper towels as a spring wildlife baby shower gift if possible.
