All-star football
The 30th annual Silicon Valley Youth Classic, will return to San José City College on July 21, 7:30 p.m. The game, also known as the Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game, will be dedicated this summer to former Leland star and 1994 all-star Pat Tillman, who was killed in action in Afghanistan this year.
Among the local players set to play for the South team in the summer game are: Willow Glen--Alex Green, wide receiver, and Chris Hobbs, quarterback; Pioneer--Armando Apolinar, defensive line, and Jeremy Landucci, running back; and Bellarmine--Andy Armstrong, linebacker, Chip Lewis, noseguard, and Chris Parrette, running back.
The game is sponsored each year by the Almaden Rotary Club. Tickets are priced at $10 and available through the San Jose Box Office (408.246.1160 or www.sjbo.com).
Youth soccer
Training sessions and tryouts for a girls under 14 comp soccer team will be held at Del Mar High School under the direction of a former MLS coach. For more information, call Tom at 408.872.3134.
Summer basketball
The San José City College men's basketball program will feature a series of events this summer for basketball players, basketball parents and basketball coaches.
San José City will host a day camp for boys ages 816 on July 1215, 9 a.m.4 p.m. each day, $235 per player. There will also be a half-day camp July 1922, 9 a.m.1 p.m. each day, $135 per player.
Clinics for players ages 910 and their parents are slated for July 7, 9, 14, 17 and 21 at the college, 78:15 p.m. each night. The cost is $100 for the five sessions.
A coach's workshop is slated for July 24, 9 a.m.1 p.m., in the main gym at San José City College. The cost for "The Court Sense Workshop for Coaches" is $25.

Summer swimming
The pool at Willow Glen Middle School will be open for summer swim lessons and recreational swimming from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through Aug. 13.
Outreach golf
The 25th annual Western Digital Outreach charity golf tournament will be held Sept. 13 at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Course. Proceeds will benefit multicultural, elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged persons and families in Santa Clara County. For more information, call 408.436.2865.
