Resident happy with
Lady Liberty in yard
If he were alive today, I wonder what Frederic Bartoldi would say about the beautiful lady sitting on Koch Lane? I also wonder what Gustave Eiffel, who designed the framework for Lady Liberty, would say? And what would Joseph Pulitzer think, the blind publisher from New York, who enticed millions of children into giving their pennies and nickels to pay for the pedestal that the Lady stands on? Or what would those millions of immigrants who landed on our golden shores think when the first thing they saw was The Lady, of course?
I'm sure if any of these people were alive today, they would be saddened and a bit surprised that anyone would not want such a symbol of liberty to adorn their yard.
I love my country and God Bless America and God Bless Marlene Opray.
From two proud Americans who celebrate the Fourth of July with our Statue of Liberty collection, which was written up in the July 2, 2003, issue of the Willow Glen Resident.

Willow Glen PTA gives
business a thumbs up
Thank you so much to Windermere Realty for its cleanup work at Willow Glen Elementary School. We especially appreciate it because we want the campus to look nice for the Kiwanis Club Summer Concerts, which will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. through Aug. 5. The Willow Glen Elementary PTA also plans to have cleanup days throughout the summer.
