Business relocates
into a larger studio
In an effort to provide more classes and space for her growing Pilates clientele, TrueBalance Fitness owner Elizabeth Cassidy recently moved her business from Lincoln Avenue to a larger studio on Brace Avenue.
The new location will provide Cassidy with the opportunity to add new classes, including kids' dance and circuit work that is targeted toward each client's interests.
"We've expanded from 650 square feet to 1,800 square feet," Cassidy said. "I focus on Pilates from a personal-training standpoint."

Painted face used as
a disguise in robbery
Instead of having a black and blue face from a fight, an armed-robbery suspect camouflaged his face with black and blue paint before holding up two clerks at Mr. T's Liquor Store in Willow Glen on July 13. The store is located at 900 Lincoln Ave., north of Coe Avenue.
The robber first confronted one of the clerks outside the liquor store at 11:59 p.m. and demanded that the clerk lie facedown on the ground, said San Jose police spokeswoman Gina Tepoorten. Then the man entered the store armed with a pistol and demanded that the second clerk, who was behind the counter, hand over the store's cash, Tepoorten said
The female clerk complied, giving him an undisclosed amount of money. The man fled into a waiting car, while the female clerk remained inside and the male clerk remained on the ground outside the store.
Tepoorten said the employees described the man as approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and between 20 and 25 years of age.
