Peeping Tom caught
acting inappropriately
The San Jose Police Department caught a man with his pants down on the 1600 block of Guadalupe Avenue.
On Oct. 6 at 2:34 p.m., a man was arrested for masturbating as he watched a Willow Glen woman through the fence of a neighbor's yard, according to San Jose police officer Enrique Garcia.
The woman, who was in her own backyard with her son, noticed the individual, Garcia said, and contacted the police department, who caught and arrested the man for indecent exposure. The man had also violated conditions of his probation, Garcia said.

Unknown individual
impersonates officer
With Halloween on the horizon, it is important to remember that some forms of dress-up are illegal.
On Oct. 12, San Jose police officer Enrique Garcia said, two witnesses noticed a man dressed as a police officer looking into the Los Gatos Creek apartments, located on the 1000 block of Meridian Avenue. The man identified himself to the witness as a police officer and flashed a badge, but could not provide an identification card when asked.
Witnesses described the impersonator as a black-haired Hispanic male in his 40s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. According to Garcia, the individual is still at large; however, Garcia said he believes this is an isolated incident.

Woman and child are
injured in hit and run
A 29-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter sustained minor injuries after a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of W. Alma Avenue and Little Orchard Street.
According to San Jose police officer Enrique Garcia, on Oct. 13 at 7:42 p.m., a black Ford Mustang convertible struck the mother and child, causing them to spin and fall to the ground. The driver momentarily stopped and then fled the scene, Garcia said.
Garcia said witnesses described the driver as a young white male with short, straight blonde hair and brown eyes. Witnesses said he was wearing a gray T-shirt and black pants.
Garcia said a witness provided a partial California license plate number: 44H965. But, he added, if anyone sees a car matching the description but having a slightly different license plate number, they should still contact the police department at 408.277.8900.
