Strikkers tryouts

The Strikkers 18 and under girls softball team will hold tryouts for the summer season on Jan. 9 at Oak Grove High School, 9 a.m. for pitchers and catchers and 10:30 a.m. for position players. Revolution tryouts

Youth rugby

The Stanford Seahawks, a youth rugby club open to boys and girls ages 6­13, will hold practice on Jan. 9, noon­2 p.m., at the Stanford University rugby field. The San Jose Seahawks and Stanford rugby club will present the club that will emphasize fun, safety and skill development. WGLL sign-ups

The Willow Glen Little League is holding online registration for players aged 5­18 for the 2005 baseball season.

All new players must provide proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and all players must provide proof of residency (utility or property tax bill).

Following online registration, players must present their eligibility documents at a verification night on Jan. 13, 6­9 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1336 Cherry Ave. (between Willow Street and Minnesota Avenue).

Fees are $135 for players ages 5­12 and $145 for players ages 13­18. Tryouts for players ages 8­12 will be held on Jan. 15 and Jan. 22.

Baseball tryouts

BayArea Baseball will hold tryouts for the 2005 summer season in January. The organization fields teams in the 18 and under, 17 and under and 16 and under age divisions, and teams will travel to showcase tournaments in Arizona, Southern California and Hawaii.
