Panthers sign
Presentation volleyball players Zoe Beltz, Darcy Carroll and Kiera Reilly and soccer standout Taylor Numann have signed Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the university level next fall.
Beltz, a middle blocker, will attend Idaho State, while Carroll will be a setter for University of San Francisco. Reilly, a defensive specialist and outside hitter for the Panthers, will join Archbishop Mitty standout K.C. Walsh at Loyola Marymount.
Numann will play soccer for Princeton in the Ivy League next fall.
Baseball showcase
Top 96, a baseball talent organization based in Boston, will hold a college and professional showcase scouting event on June 3 and 5 at PAL Stadium in San Jose. The local event will be one the first of the 16 showcases to be held across the nation this summer.
High school coaches in the area are expected to recommend 800 student athletes, and 144 will be chosen to take part in the showcase that will be attended by college and professional scouts and coaches.

Writers day
The San Jose Stealth is inviting high school students to a sports writers day on March 12 when the local professional lacrosse team hosts the Arizona Sting at the HP Pavilion.
High school sports writers will go behind the scenes, watch the game from the press box, interview players and coaches, and write a game story.

Girls lacrosse
The San Jose Extreme, a member team of Girls Lacrosse of San Jose, has openings remaining on its high school roster. Practices begin in February and will be held Wednesdays and Sundays at Kirk Community Center on Foxworthy Avenue in San Jose. Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association games are played on Sundays and the season will run through May.
The team is open to any girl whose high school does not offer lacrosse as an official sport. No experience is necessary. The cost is $165 per player, which includes membership in the U.S. Lacrosse Association.
