'Ghost' appearance

Undefeated NABF featherweight champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero will make a guest appearance at Jerseys Cheese Steaks, 1781 Winchester Blvd. in Campbell, on April 19th at 7 p.m. Fans in attendance will receive autographed pictures. For more information, call 408.374.1415.

Warriors camp

The Golden State Warriors will sponsor a youth basketball camp for boys and girls ages 8­16 during the week of April 18­22 at Cupertino High School. The camp will focus on individual skill development, fundamentals and team play.

The camp staff will include high school and college players and local college players. Most of the Golden State sessions also include appearances of current and former Warriors players.

Each player attending the camp will also receive two tickets to the April 20 Warriors game against the Utah Jazz on April 20 at The Arena in Oakland.

Baseball showcase

TOP96, a baseball talent organization based in Boston, will hold a college and professional showcase scouting event on June 3 and 5 at PAL Stadium in San Jose. The local event will be one the first of the 16 showcases to be held across the nation this summer. The registration deadline is April 30.

High school coaches in the area are expected to recommend 800 student athletes, and 144 will be chosen to take part in the showcase that will be attended by college and professional scouts and coaches.
