A few runs behind? For many baseball teams that be cause for concern, but not for White and McDonald of the Lincoln Glen Little League "A" division.
White and McDonald trailed 9-8 in the first round of the league tournament, but battled from behind with three runs in the top of the sixth and then held on to claim an 11-9 win over Referral Realty.
After pounding Able Printing 23-7 in the tourney semifinals, White and McDonald found itself behind again in the championship game against Winchester Ranch. This time it was an eight-run rally in the fifth innings that helped lift White and McDonald from an 8-5 deficit to an 18-10 win over Winchester.
White and McDonald held a 13-10 after five innings, thanks to a timely double play that stopped a potential Winchester Ranch rally in the bottom of the fifth. Then the champs' hitters went to work again in the sixth, putting five insurance runs on the scoreboard.
