Dog park barking
up the wrong tree
I would like to add my experience to the fray about the dog park ("Neighbors try to muzzle plans for Wallenberg Park dog site," July 13). The proposed dog site at Wallenberg Park will include at least 30 percent of dog owners who will not follow the rules.
How do I know? Since the new track at Willow Glen High School has been in use, I calculate that about three out of 10 people who use the track do not follow the rules, even though they are clearly posted as you enter the track area.
The rules being consistently broken are: People running on the inner lanes on the track and people allowing their dogs to run free in the track area.
When I politely inform them of the rules that are posted, I'm told to "mind my own business" or I'm cussed at.
In conclusion, if the dog park is allowed to open, you will have at least 30 percent of the dog owners who won't follow the rules and make things even more chaotic.
