People want a dog
park in Willow Glen
I would like to respond to Thomas Sutton whose article appeared in the last issue of Willow Glen Resident ("Dog park barking up the wrong tree," July 20.)
Sutton obviously don't know much about dog owners. I'd say about 90 percent are responsible pet owners, who pick up after their dogs, keep them on leashes and away from children.
How do I know? Because I am one of them, as are all of our friends who have dogs. We just want an area for them to socialize and exercise safely off-leash. Sutton says he likes to jog around a track. Well, dogs like to run also.
I've seen parents who let their children run wild in restaurants and movie theaters, as well as people who tailgate and speed while driving. It doesn't seem like they like to follow the rules either.
There are always going to be people who are not following the "rules" as the letter writer sees them. But dog lovers treat their pets as children and love them just as much.
A dog park is going to happen whether Sutton likes it or not in Willow Glen. Maybe when that happens, Sutton can have his track back and not be bothered by those who don't follow the "rules."
