Put the $200,000
in a worthy cause
Am I missing something here? ("San Jose OKs funds for renovations at 7-Eleven on Fruitdale," Sept. 28.)
Owner John Vidowich lets his property go to heck in a handbasket as he buys and develops one of the largest parcels in the area, yet it's the taxpayers who are going to allocate $200,000 for landscaping and a paint job?
Isn't this the same developer that was in court for underpaying mobile park owners for their properties in Sunnyvale so he could tear them down and develop that property? The taxpayers shouldn't be putting a dime into this property.
When I had a property to be developed and it was tagged I was threatened with a $250 a day fine. Do the same to Vidowich and see how fast he paints the property and cleans it up.
It is in his best interest to improve the overall appearance of his entire parcel. He will reap the benefits upon the sale of the units. Let him do it and put that $200,000 into a worthier project.
