Man is hit on head
with metal pipe
A 22-year-old San Jose resident standing at a bus stop on the corner of Fruitdale Avenue and Southwest Expressway was struck over the head with a metal pipe, San Jose Police Department spokesman Nick Muyo said.
According to police, a man drinking a cup of coffee at the bus stop witnessed an Hispanic male walk from the
7-Eleven to the bus stop when a dark sedan pull up to the bus stop next to him.
No words were exchanged, the police said, but a passenger got out and struck the man over the head. The passenger then got back into the car, and the sedan headed east on Fruitdale Avenue, then south on Interstate 280.
The witness called the police. When the authorities arrived, they found the injured man with a large cut on his head. The man was taken to Valley Medical Center in an ambulance.
The individuals involved are still at large; anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the SJPD assault unit at 408.277.4161.
