It's time for baseball in Willow Glen, weather permitting, as both the local Little League organizations prepare for opening day ceremonies this weekend.
The Willow Glen Little League will officially open the season on March 11 at Bramhall Park on Willow Street. A pancake breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. followed by opening ceremonies and the parade of teams. The T-ball Classic, featuring the league's eight T-ball teams in four 20-minute games, will be followed by the league's annual barbecue. Major division games will also be played that day. Down the road at River Glen Park at Bird and Pine, the Lincoln Glen Little League will hold opening ceremonies beginning at 8:30 a.m. on March 11. Players are to arrive in full uniform no later than 8 a.m. to prepare for the day's events. For more information, visit www.lincolnglenbaseball.com.
CPLL's 50th
The Cambrian Park Little League will celebrate its 50th anniversary at opening day ceremonies on March 11, 10 a.m., at the Steindorf fields, Foxworthy and Leigh behind the Target Store. There will be a special focus on the league's history, and all former players, coaches, board members and parents are encouraged to attend.
