Willow Glen Resident wins Peninsula Press Club awards
Willow Glen Resident and Campbell Reporter staff members won awards for excellence in journalism at the Peninsula Press Club's 29th annual Greater Bay Area Journalism Awards banquet.
Editor Moryt Milo and staff writer Alicia Upano took home top honors in the non-daily newspaper division at an awards banquet, held June 1 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. The awards were for stories and headlines published in 2005.
Media professionals from 11 Bay Area counties submitted 578 entries, and 226 awards were presented in 90 categories. Along with the non-daily newspaper division, awards were given to daily newspapers, magazines/trade publications, editorial cartoons, print photography, radio, television and websites.
A complete list of winners from Silicon Valley Community Newspapers, which includes the Willow Glen Resident and Campbell Reporter, were:
