The Inn wins Lincoln Glen AA championship

ByKevin Sparrer

Never count out the Inn. Holder's Country Inn came out of the loser's bracket in the league tournament to win the Lincoln Glen Little League AA championship this spring.

Holder's fell behind in the final game of the tourney 3-2 against Winchester Ranch, who had originally put Holder's into the loser's side in the first game of the tournament. But this time Holder's was able to battle back in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run inning and held on for the win.

The weekend before, Holder's met Winchester Ranch again. This time, Holder's won without falling behind in a 5-2 defensive battle.

The day before on June 9, Holder's took on and defeated Blach Construction in a big hitting battle. The game ended 17-14 and allowed Holder's the opportunity to take on Winchester Ranch in the championship round.

On June 6, Holder's fought through regulation and on into extra innings with Johanson and Yao after finishing six frames in an 8-8 tie. Holder's scored three runs in the top of the eighth on a three-run blast to take the lead. Johanson and Yao fought back with two runs in the bottom of the eighth, but the third run remained elusive and Holder's took the win.
