What's a parent to do
about college costs?

Thank you for the well-written opinion about the cost of a college education ("The cost of a college education has become prohibitive, March 16").

It seems as though it is out of control. Even more dramatic is the cost of books.

I was hoping my youngest daughter of three would be able to transfer to a UC or state college away from this area, but with the costs I'm now hoping she can transfer from West Valley Community College to SJSU.
