HEAD FOOTBALL COACH RESIGNS FROM WILLOW GLEN HIGH

Willow Glen High School is without a head football coach. Ron Capurso, who joined Willow Glen as head coach last season, resigned the week of March 10 for personal reasons, according to athletics director Peggy Booth.

With football training scheduled to begin next month, news of his departure has some concerned that the team won't be ready to compete next season.

Booth says there's nothing to worry about.

"We will have football here," she says. "We are looking right now and will post the job after spring break. We will choose the candidate that is the best fit for our school."

Booth says sign-ups for the football's weight-lifting program are under way, and the program will begin after spring break, with volunteers helping out.
