In a society that devotes an entire aisle at the local
drug store to the various brands of shampoo vying
for your dollars, it’s nice to have a little direction
every now and then. The 2002 Best of Los Gatos
issue, which comes out Oct. 23, is one resource to
help manage the daily decision-making process that can
sometimes cause paralysis in a sea of choices.
Some items are new and some are gone. For example, last
year’s Best place to sing along category didn’t get the expected
response from voters, so it was retired. But Best veterinarian,
financial whiz, salad and youth sports coach were added.
Of course, the winners will be determined through a
popular vote fueled by the return of this ballot. The rules:
You must vote for at least 20 items, or the ballot will be
invalid. Fill out the ballot as completely as possible (including
your name and phone number—which we promise not
to print).
Ballots must be received no later than 5 p.m. Sept. 13.
We reserve the right to disqualify nominees or eliminate
categories if it appears there has been a coordinated effort
to influence survey results.
