Vandalism--On Feb. 18 between 9:35 and 9:45 a.m. on Miller Avenue and Ascension Drive. An unknown light-skinned male, approximately 20 years old, smashed out the passenger window of a woman's BMW. The man fled in a red Toyota and is still at large.
Commercial burglary--On Feb. 18 at 6:05 a.m. on Prospect Road. Unknown persons pried open the rear door of two businesses and entered. The pizza business was ransacked, but the dental office was not disturbed. Nothing was taken from either business.
Contributing to delinquency of minor--On Feb. 18 at 2:17 a.m. on Saratoga and Fruitvale avenues. During a traffic enforcement stop, a sheriff's deputy found a 15-year-old driving without a license. There was a 19-year-old in the back seat under the influence of alcohol who supplied another 15-year-old in the car with an alcoholic beverage he had opened in the car. The 19-year-old was booked into the main jail.
Driving under the influence--On Feb. 16 at 9:25 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue and Lawrence Expressway. During a traffic enforcement stop, a sheriff's deputy found a driver under 21 years old driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver had a blood alcohol content of .036, illegal for someone under 21. There is no further information.
Assault and battery on peace officer--On Feb. 14 at 2:04 a.m. on Saratoga and Herriman avenues. A sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle for a red light violation and detected the odor of marijuana. There was an intoxicated adult in the passenger seat who refused to exit the vehicle and allow it to be searched. While she was escorted from the vehicle, she spat in the face of the deputy. She was booked for assault and battery on a peace officer and being drunk in public. The driver was cited and released for possession of marijuana.
Missing/found juvenile--On Feb. 13 between noon and 6 p.m. on Titus Avenue. A juvenile ran away from home, but returned the next day. The juvenile was allowed to remain in the house and was removed from the missing persons list.
Possession of a knife on school grounds--On Feb. 12 at 10:30 a.m. on Prospect Road and Lawrence Expressway. A student was brought to the principal's office after she ran across the street near an auto accident that had just occurred in front of Prospect High School. The student was found to be in possession of a locking blade knife. She was cited and released to her father.
Vandalism--On Feb. 11 between 4 and 6 p.m. on Granada Court. Unknown persons broke three windows of a man's residence and are still at large.
Burglary--Between Feb. 10 at 11:30 a.m. and Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. on Herriman Avenue. Unknown persons entered a classroom of a church on Herriman Avenue. They stole a laptop computer and digital video camera, worth a total of about $2,200. They are still at large.
